Why is this route called short? Because the climb from Pasar Agung Temple to the actual summit at 3,142m only takes 10 hours of climbing and descending. So, to climb up from the starting point at an altitude of 1,600m, Pasar Agung Temple takes 6 hours to reach the highest peak at 3,142m, and the trip down the mountain takes 4 hours. This is a normal trip, if you are fast, you can arrive earlier and get there faster. From the start of this hike, you only need to travel 7 km to the summit. The route begins on a dirt road. Once you reach 2,000 meters, you’ll encounter a rocky path with beautiful views of cliffs and rock caves. The route is safe, as it’s equipped with ropes and steps.
Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be greeted by a path often referred to as the “Dragon’s Back.” You can cross it and walk to the summit, enjoying the breathtaking views, including the sunrise and the majestic Mount Agung crater. Itinerary from Initial Pickup to End of Climb:

  • If you book with transportation, pickup starts at 10:00 PM WIB: This is the pick-up time for all areas from Ubud, Denpasar, Canggu, Kuta, and Seminyak, nusa dua. If you require pick-up and drop-off in a large, comfortable car, pick-up is available from your hotel. Pick-up times may vary depending on where you are staying in Bali; we offer pick-up throughout Bali.
  • If you book without transportation, you must arrive at the starting point by 11:40 might night You will be sent the starting point and can proceed directly to meet your guide.
  • 11:30 PM WIB: Arrive at the Mount Agung registration office.
  • 11:30 PM WIB โ€“ 12:00 AM WIB: Prepare your climbing equipment while enjoying warm coffee and fried bananas provided by your guide at the starting point.
  • 12:15 AM WIB: Register your name before starting the climb, then hand over your climbing equipment, such as trekking poles, headlamps, and gloves. Then, we begin the climb.
  • 3:00 AM WIB: Arrive at the Post 1 campsite and the 2,300m rest area. Rest, drink water, and eat to boost your energy to continue the climb to the highest peak, 3,142 m.
  • 5:30 AM WIB: Arrive at the 3,142 m summit.
  • 5:30 AM WIB: Your climbing guide will prepare breakfast: coffee/tea, bread, fried bananas, and some snacks while you enjoy the view.
  • 6:00 AM: Enjoy the beautiful sunrise with views of Mount Batur and Mount Rinjani. Your guide will also take interesting photos and videos for you.
  • 7:00 AM: Prepare to descend from the summit after enjoying all the beautiful views.
  • 9:30 AM: Arrive at the starting point of Pasar Agung, where your driver will be waiting for you and ready to take you back to your hotel.
  • 10:00 AM: Nearing noon, your driver will be ready to take you back to your hotel or homestay.
  • 12:00 PM: Arrive at your hotel/homestay, and our tour ends.
